The Department of Education (the department) is pleased to announce that Arc Learning, our new digital platform for learning and teaching resources, will be launched in Term 1, 2024.
Arc Learning will replace the department’s existing online content repository, FUSE. Arc Learning aims to provide teachers with easier access to the highest-quality learning and teaching resources.
Arc Learning will extend the Arc platform. Arc Events was launched in 2020 to help teachers more easily access a range of digital services including student events and professional learning. Arc Software was launched in 2021 to help teachers and students more easily access department provided or endorsed software.
Arc Learning will host a curated list of high-quality learning and teaching resources, professional learning and department toolkits and resources. All learning and teaching resources will be mapped to Victorian curriculum frameworks including the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework, the Victorian Curriculum: Foundation to Level 10 and the Victorian Senior Secondary Certificate curricula, as well as elements of the Victorian Teaching and Learning Model, such as the Practice Principles and High Impact Teaching Strategies.
The ability to curate, create and publish content on Arc Learning will be limited to authorised publishers. This will help ensure that only the highest quality learning and teaching resources are published on Arc Learning.
Arc Learning replaces the FUSE platform which will be decommissioned from Term 1, 2024. Visit the FUSE Transition page to learn more about the decommissioning of FUSE and transition to Arc Learning.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who can log into Arc Learning?
Victorian government school and department staff can log in to Arc Learning using their EduPass credentials. Other users can browse and search Arc Learning (and the rest of Arc) as non-authenticated users.
How can I log into Arc Learning?
Log into Arc Learning using your @education email address and your current EduPass password. If you are having difficulty logging in to Arc, seek assistance from your School Technician.
What are the benefits of logging into Arc?
Authenticated users have additional functionality on their personalised landing page that is not available to non-authenticated users. This includes direct registration for restricted events on Arc Events, and access to department-provided titles in Arc Software. In addition, authenticated users can bookmark favourite events, providers, channels and resources and create and share lists with colleagues and students.
Where can I find FUSE content on Arc Learning?
Some FUSE content will be migrated to Arc Learning as ‘Legacy’ content. This content will be accessible for 12 months and will not be searchable on Arc Learning. For access to Legacy content, add a bookmark or save the FUSE link as a Favourite on your browser.
For authenticated users, sign into FUSE and add the resource to your ‘Favourites’ tab before the platform switches to read-only mode on 31 July 2023. Any content saved in your ‘Favourites’ tab on FUSE will be migrated to Arc Learning and will be accessible in the ‘My lists’ tab once you have signed into Arc using your EduPass credentials.
Why can’t I upload content onto Arc Learning?
Feedback from teachers indicated that FUSE was difficult to search and navigate, and many FUSE resources contained broken links. To maintain the quality of resources available on the Arc Learning platform, a rigorous publishing process has been established for authorised publishers to upload content. This will provide an enhanced experience for teachers and ensure alignment of content to important compliance criteria (e.g., copyright, accessibility) and to Victorian curriculum frameworks.
Where can I store my content?
Users who have previously uploaded content to share with students and colleagues are encouraged to explore the Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace for Education pages on Arc Software for storage options that best suit their needs.
Where can I get further assistance about storage options for saving resources?
School-based staff seeking further assistance about options for saving resources for use with students and colleagues should talk to their School Technician. Corporate staff should raise a service request on the DE Services Portal.
