Everyone's an Author is a digital creative writing program.
The program/course is intended to run for ten weeks. It features ten 1-3 minute, author videos with each video focusing on an aspect of creative writing. Participating students download a learning journal to work with as they view the Author videos and respond to the provocations.
The author videos focus on different aspects of creative writing including story planning, language features, and then move onto visual literacy such as storyboarding and animation.
Each author video features 2 explicit writing tips around a particular content area The first video focuses on creating characters.
The learning journal has been provided in 2 formats; PDF and Apple Pages. The project highlights the use of Apple apps for iPad, but tasks can be easily be completed using a variety of software that suits the student and/or the teacher.
The program is open-ended and can be accessed by students in K-8 with some extension tasks included in the journals.
Please Note: The first Author Video is to be released May 1st, 2020 with following videos released weekly on Friday.
Hosted by the NSW Department of Education, VIC DET are supporting this program to provide students with access to a quality creative writing program and author focus.
