Professional Practice Note 11 - Pedagogical Model supports literacy learning.
PPN 11 provides insight into how the Pedagogical Model can be integrated into teaching practice to enhance literacy learning. Understanding and planning lessons and lesson sequences using the five domains of teaching instruction: Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate and Evaluate supports the development of a comprehensive literacy programs. Teachers can develop unit plans through careful selection of strategies aligned to the domains to create engaging and challenging learning experiences for students.
This PPN unpacks how this VTLM component can be used as a tool to support all students to improve their literacy learning.
Professional Practice Notes provide teachers, instructional and school leaders with insights into effective whole-school and classroom practices that can be used actively to support professional learning through:
• Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and Key Learning Area teams within the school
• Communities of Practice (CoPs) and networks across a number of schools.
The full suite of Professional Practice Notes, support the ongoing implementation of improvement priorities through the Framework for Improving Student Outcomes (FISO)
