Five episodes are featured, together with lesson plans for lower, middle and upper primary. Hector's world is a high quality esafety resource created for primary ages students. The 2D animations cover online safety topics such as privacy, protecting personal information, cyberbully and esecurity. Each episode is accompanied by both lower, middle and upper primary lesson plans to support teachers and students to further their understanding. A teacher information sheet can also be downloaded with background information and a description of the episodes. The resource is age appropriate and supports the teacher to have further classroom discussions with students.

Ideas for using this resource

  • Ask children questions about safety: What is safety? What do we need to remember to be safe? Who can we go to if we don’t feel safe?
  • Intentionally plan for children to be introduced to the topic of being safe and responsible when they use the internet.
  • Ask the children what they would do if they saw something that made them upset?

  • The videos and lesson plans could be used to teach a specific topic on cyber safety or taught as a complete set across the primary setting.
