In this interactive, students arrange train carriages according to numbers on their sides (these are represented by words, numerals, dice dots or counting frames). Students identify the numbers that come before and after starting numbers. There are five levels. At Level 1, students can numbers from 0 to 10 are presented. At Levels 2 to 4, larger numbers are given. At Level 5, students can practise 'skip counting' by twos, fives and tens to arrange the train carriages.

Key Learning Objectives
Students identify the number before and after a given number.
Students sequence whole numbers from 1 to 120.
Students connect number words and numerals to the quantities they represent using dice dots, tenframes and base 10 blocks.
Students recognise place value in twodigit and threedigit numbers.
Students apply skip counting, forwards and backwards by twos, fives and tens.

Educational Values
Students recognise onedigit to threedigit number ‘names’ and values in a variety of representations.
Students develop and consolidate counting forwards and backwards skills that are fundamental to addition and subtraction skills.
Skip counting supports thinking about ‘equal groups’ that underlies multiplicative thinking.
Challenges students to develop strategies as they predict, test and confirm, or change the sequencing of numbers.
A ‘hundred chart’ provides support for 'skip counting' while students develop appropriate thinking and test ideas.
Randomised number generation encourages repeated use.
