Galileo Galilei is an Italian unit of work based on the the life of the famous Italian scientist, Galileo Galilei.
The unit of work is suitable for primary school students in Years 3 - 4.
In this unit students engage with a simple, imaginary text, which is an adaptation of the bilingual book Galileo Galilei e la Torre de Pisa (Galileo Galilei and the Pisa Tower) by Nancy Bach (2013, Long Bridge Publishing).
Through carefully scaffolded lessons, students participate in class activities and games to prepare a role-play for presentation to the class.
A particular focus throughout the unit is on the correct pronunciation and expression of key phrases in Italian.
