Prime visits the butcher shop with Al and Ada to buy sausages for a doggy dinner party. But will the dinner party go to plan when some sausages fall out of the bag on their way home?


Ideas for using this resource

After viewing the episode, you may like to:

  • Use small objects around the home to represent the sausages (e.g. crayons, pencils, or teaspoons) and ask your child to create the arrays that Prime visualises.
  • Support your child to draw or model an array to show: three sausages for three dogs; four sausages for three dogs; five sausages for three dogs; etc.

Key ideas: An array is formed by arranging a set of objects into rows and columns. Visualising an array assists with understanding multiplication.
